Are there any tips for my first time?
Come well hydrated and nourished- having food and water before your treatment is important as we are helping the system go into a "Rest and Digest" state and providing the body with the proper tools (food and water) will help you to receive the best from you treatment.
What to wear- Something comfortable is always nice but we can easily work around whatever attire you wear. We understand you may be coming from work or heading out to an event after so working around clothing isn't a problem. That being said some patients do like to bring a change of clothes for their visit.
Do you accept insurance?
We do accept insurance and are in network with most major insurance plans. To learn more about fees and insurance click here.
What kind of training did you receive?
Acupuncturists receive a minimum of a Master's degree and become nationally board certified through the NCCAOM. Washington state also has a specific acupuncture license.
Naturopathic Physicians are nationally board certified and receive a doctoral degree before being allowed to practice. They also have state licensure.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies drastically on a case by case basis, but generally speaking a series of treatments is recommended. At Pins and Needles Acupuncture we always provide a treatment plan to suit a patient's specifc needs during the first visit.
How long is each visit?
The initial acupuncture visit can take up to 90 minutes and follow up visits can be up to an hour. Massage visits are one hour. Naturopathic initial visits can take an 60-90 minutes and follow ups are 30-60 minutes.
